The Faculty of Civil Engineering and
Architecture of Nis is a higher education and scientific-research institution
whose goals are realization of high quality educational process, development of
scientific disciplines in the field of civil engineering and architecture and
the transfer of acquired knowledge into the adequate segment of economy and
society.
Since
its inception in 1960, the mission of the Faculty was to improve the position
of the faculty in the higher education system of Serbia, to create engineering
personnel trained in planning and arrangement of settlements and cities, in
designing and constructing of buildings, roads, railways, bridges, dams,
various hydraulic structures and systems and other civil engineering and
architectonic structures; to nurture ideas paving the way for new developmental
building expression which will be more understandable and readable; to
comprehensively cooperate with the industry in solving practical tasks of civil
engineering and architecture.
In
the course of time, the Faculty developed curricula, educating students for the
current and future technological systems, developing simultaneously its own
competent human and natural resources.
As
a prominent educational and scientific institution, The Faculty of Civil
Engineering is clearly committed to retain the prominent position in the higher
education system of Serbia in the future period, to successfully contribute to
the scientific-research activities, to develop new ideas in civil engineering
and architectonic domain, to broaden its cooperation with other universities,
faculties and corresponding governmental and industrial institutions.
Apart
from that, the Faculty is committed to achieve all the standards of European
Faculties and create even better conditions for efficient and high-quality
education of professionals in civil engineering and architectonic trades in
order to become an equal partner in a single European space of higher
education.
The
conditions to fulfill the vision will be accomplished by orientation towards
modern curricula, improvement of teaching process quality and studying
efficiency, by a more extensive and concrete scientific-research and
professional engagements, with an enhanced selection of student population,
researchers and teachers and by improving the standards of the students and the
employees and by improving all the forms of activities at the faculty.
